Sr. Azure Product Marketing Manager, US M&O

The US Azure Business Group Applications team is responsible for leading the Azure Applications Go-To-Market strategy for the US to deliver customer and partner success, resulting in revenue, growth and share outcomes.

The Sr.

Azure Product Marketing Manager (PMM), will report to the Azure Business Group Application & Infrastructure team lead and will be part of US Marking & Operations organization.

The Sr.

PMM must develop strong partnerships across marketing, partner, services, and sales to lead and execute the priorities.

They will be required to have or develop a strong understanding of Azure Applications, at the 200
– 300 level, and a deep understanding of customer solutions and strategies.

In addition, the Sr PMM must be able to articulate the competitive landscape and develop compete strategies and product differentiation by leveraging corporate and local research, partner insights and customer feedback.

Examples of Azure Application solutions are Application PaaS, Container Services, Microservices, Functions, Pivotal and OpenShift.

This role relies on strong business acumen and being well versed in sales, planning, and project management are key to being successful in this role.

Successful candidates excel at cross team collaboration and have a history of solving tough problems in complex environments, as well as the ability to demonstrate leadership and influence across a diverse set of stakeholders.


US Marketing & Operations (USM&O) is the ‘Marketing and COO’ function for Microsoft United States (MSUS), also known as the US subsidiary.

USM&O executes company strategy and priorities that enable us to achieve our business goals with a focus on B2B customer engagement by developing and executing on go-to-market programs (GTMs), Marketing Campaigns, and a Field Operating Model.

Driving a common operating model across the US subsidiary ensures consistent, measurable execution and landing of priorities.

Driving alignment with our internal corporate partners in organizations including Product Marketing, Marketing & Consumer Business (MCB), Worldwide Commercial Business (WCB), Engineering, and Field Leadership is also critical to our collective success, as is continuing to listen, learn and respond via rapid feedback loops.


Own and Land Your Propositions

  • Plan and execute activity that promotes Azure Application services to drive revenue growth; lead key product/services moments/activities/releases
  • Maintain Azure Applications knowledge and evangelize the product internally and externally to influencers, sales (for pre-sales and consumption driving) customer and partner scenarios
  • Act as the voice of the field by ensuring timely updates/feedback to corporate on Azure Applications execution and performance in the US
  • Land & Create sales programs to drive net new business
  • Ensure high ROI on investments

Go-To-Market Planning

  • Own the product marketing strategy for your relevant Azure Applications Scenarios
  • Orchestrate the creation of marketing plans and campaign investment decisions.

    Lead targeting for marketing-owned campaigns and activities, partner with segment/channel teams to prioritize investment decisions for non-product-marketing owned activities.

  • Determine a common set of KPIs for marketing activities in collaboration with other teams involved

Business Orchestration

  • Orchestrating execution to deliver on business metrics related to the Rhythm of the Business (ROB) and orchestrate Correction of Errors plans
  • Develop local business management strategy
    – partner with the Partner Organization (OCP) and Microsoft Services (Consulting & Support) to interpret market opportunity and risk and build appropriate Go-To-Market Plan
  • Determine key insights and asks to accelerate adoption of Azure Applications, qualify inhibitors (with recommendations) to escalate to LT and Corp.
  • Track and report marketing performance/KPIs through standardized marketing tools.



Experience: 5+ years related e xperience in technology product marketing, preferably cloud services.

  • Experience marketing cloud security software for customers.
  • Strong executive communication, storytelling skills, and the ability to translate complex ideas into simple stories.
  • Strong Business Analysis Skills (understands financials, sales processes, scorecards, and key performance indicators)
  • Track record of cross-group collaboration skills and can manage stakeholders across large matrix organizations.
  • Track record of executive influencing and stakeholder management skills
