Sales Manager
Pax Properties is looking for a Sales Manager to join our team in our Vero Beach Inn & Suites hotel in Vero Beach. The Sales Manager is responsible for setting the goals of the department, understanding the importance of building and maintaining relationships, overseeing the budget, motivating the team, and projecting an environment of continuous learning.
If hired, you will lead and manage all day-to-day activities with a focus on building long-term, value-based customer relationships that help achieve all sales objectives.
As our Sales Manager, you will partner and answer to the General Manager to strategically drive revenue and you will proactively engage in direct sales and business development tactics to increase top line revenue and achieve budgeted revenue numbers, RevPAR and market share goals.
In this role, you will motivate and guide the team towards reaching all sales goals. You will assign territories, report to senior Sales leadership on achievements, and mentor the junior sales team members. This person will also display tremendous leadership experience, strong customer service skills, and proven negotiating skills.
Responsibilities:
Assisting with the development and implementation of promotions, both internal and external
Providing positive and aggressive leadership to ensure maximum revenue potential (e.g., sets example with personal booking goals)
Working with management team in developing and executing sales strategies
Reaching, and exceeding, department booking goals
Initiate and participate client calls to acquire new business and/or close on business
Executing and supporting the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposals, writing contracts, customer correspondence, etc.)
Analyzing market information and implementing strategy to achieve property s financial room and catering goals
Execute all catering activities from negotiating with clients regarding food and beverage pricing, function space, room rates and hotel services to presenting the bill and ensuring payment
Negotiates, plans, details and finalizes contract and banquet event orders with clients
Ensures all checks, payments, folios and advanced deposits are submitted to the appropriate departments
Interacting with guests to obtain feedback and reviewing guest satisfaction results to identify areas of improvement
Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service
Displaying leadership in guest hospitality, exemplifying customer service and creating a positive example for guest relations
Developing and managing relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external
Attends 8 Networking Functions Per Month to promote hotel to community partners and businesses
Promotes hotel to community through partnerships, sponsorships and hosting of in-house events
Leads pre-event and post-event meetings for assigned groups
Responsible for the development of market segments and solicitation of new customer relationships while maintaining and enhancing existing relationships with corporate and social accounts
Consistently strives to maximize revenue and promote relationships through effective negotiation of services and control of expenses
Participates in meetings as appropriate, to ensure communication between departments while helping to ensure clients needs are met
Responsible for receiving rooming lists on time and monitoring reservation receipt and entry and group pickup
Works with clients to determine event needs, creates Banquet Event Orders outlining Banquet Hall setup, guaranteed guest count, vendors including decor companies, catering, florists and photographers.
Share's BEO with the hotel management team and ensures successful execution of events
Assists with setup and event execution when needed.
Collaborates with marketing to provide content including pictures and videos showcasing the hotel's amenities.
This position reports to the General Manager and the Director of Sales
Requirements:
Minimum of 2-3 years hotel experience
Previous hotel Sales Management experience is required
Ability to manage multiple sales activities simultaneously while maintaining communication to inform key stakeholders of progress
Demonstrated excellence in communication, problem solving skills and process improvement
3 years experience in sales and marketing, or a related professional area.
Proven lead-generation and closing skills
Must be able to pass a background check and a drug screening
Additional Info:
Compensation: $35k – $45k/yr (commensurate with experience)
