Brown & Brown is looking for a Account Manager to join our Employee Benefits team in Sarasota, Florida!

Responsible for account management, high quality customer service for the clients and support to the sales team always maintaining a pleasant and helpful attitude.  Primary job function is to make every effort to retain business and assist producers with opportunities for new business, cross selling and account rounding on existing accounts as appropriate.  Assist in the growth and profitability of the Employee Benefits Department, for customer accounts and transactions in support of the production of the business.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Proactively assigned book of business.
  • Develops relationships with smaller & mid-sized clients in order to retain business and increase revenue
  • Manages a book of business to include renewal preparation, marketing and negotiation, developing presentations, strategic planning, open enrollment communication, carrier implementation and year-round customer service
  • Assists the Sales Executives with pursuing relationships with potential new accounts and seeks business expansion opportunities with current clients.
  • Account Manager has detailed knowledge of products and services being offered and ensures that products and services consistently meet client needs.
  • May visit client locations periodically to ensure client satisfaction and promote ongoing contract renewal.
  • Provide sales quotations and responds to request for proposals
  • Educates clients on compliance responsibilities for federal and state laws effecting benefits plans.
  • Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role
  • Maintains current knowledge of industry changes and trends
  • May support higher-level account executives working with larger accounts.
  • Be the starting point for realizing client service timelines and expectations.
  • Assist clients with day-to-day transactions such as enrollment, billing and claims.
  • Document conversations with insured and/or other interested parties.
  • Maintain and update the agency management system timely and accurately.
  • Review list of upcoming renewals and make sure that renewal rates are received from carrier and given to agent in timely manner.
  • Coordinate and manage the marketing process for all clients in assigned book of business.
  • Negotiate with carriers to obtain the best pricing for the client and commission for the agency.
  • Rate and prepare quotations upon request as required in a timely, efficient, accurate and organized manner.
  • Review quotes for accuracy.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of carrier products and underwriting guidelines.
  • Prepare benefit summaries, renewal proposals, and marketing proposals.
  • Attend appropriate classes and seminars in order to remain current on industry trends and information, new product development, legislation, regulatory compliance, coverages and technology.
  • Setup and maintain client files as required.
  • Promote teamwork and commitment to department goals.
  • Develop positive business relationships with clients, co-workers, and carrier representatives.
  • Top Gun reporting of New and Lost Business

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Bachelor’s Preferred or equivalent experience and 2-15 License.

  • Active Florida Life & Health Insurance license required.

  • Minimum typing speed of 40 to 50 words per minute preferred.

  • Practical knowledge of Applied and Outlook programs preferred.

  • Proficient in Excel and Word, preferred.
