Come join us on our journey to create solutions for a sustainable future!Senior EHS Specialist – Quincy, FLWhere the Chemistry HappensLead and coordinate the Environmental, Health, Safety & Industrial Hygiene (EHS) programs for the Quincy site.

These programs are designed to prevent the occurrence of workplace injuries and illnesses and prevent the loss of equipment, materials and products.

Monitor federal, state and local regulatory activities and ensure Site compliance.Develop and implement programs and procedures for site compliance with EHS related laws and regulations and with all BASF EHS policies.

Guide, assist and direct those individuals within the site organization assigned responsibility for EHS related compliance.

Develop and maintain expertise in state and local ecology related laws and regulations and knowledge of applicable federal laws and regulations.Knowledge and experience in manufacturing /processing / packaging / mining operations (Attapulgite clay products).

Requires the ability to plan, develop and implement programs that will have significant impact on improving the plant operations regarding EHS requirements.

Must be able to recognize hazards and be able to apply appropriate loss prevention techniques.

Must be knowledgeable of Corporate EHS requirements.

Must possess the ability to relate to and deal effectively with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.

Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Environmental Sciences or engineering.Qualifications BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalentFormula for SuccessCoordinate the Site EHS programs through all Quincy Operations.

Ensure that safe working conditions are maintained through planned inspections and to ensure corrective actions are addressed/implementedThe position will be a part of the site leadership teamProvide assistance and guidance to all levels of plant management in areas of EHS through training sessions and contacts to assure all employees are properly trainedMaintain SWPPP(Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan) and SPCCP(Spill Prevention Control & Counter Measure Plan)Maintain compliance with the Industrial Wastewater Permit for the sitePerforming Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly InspectionsManage Intake Basin maintenance and repairsHost all Permit yearly InspectionsHost the Bi-Annual MSHA inspections for the site and mine’sProvide all MSHA reports Monthly, Quarterly and YearlyCoordinate Crisis Management PlantManage all IH & Noise sampling and training for all operations at the siteManage the respirator program and fit testingManage all reporting for Discharge of Wastewater and Industrial Storm WaterInspect Universal Accumulation areas and manage the manifest documentsEnsure all Permit reports are completed Monthly, Quarterly and Yearly for GA and FLApply for all permit renewals for the site and minesHelp maintain all Big 10 complianceCreate yearly REHSA reportImplement EHS related compliance programs and proceduresMonitor reports of all accidents/incidents to ensure proper investigations are completed, directed at determining basic causes and corrective actionsConduct EHS reviews of all capital project requestsReport to Site/Divisional management on status of EHS activitiesParticipate in EHS compliance reviews and audits (internal and external)Train individuals on EHS requirements as requiredMaintain expertise in assigned EHS areasEnsure compliance (training, reporting) with MSHA regulations.Manage all injury cases first aid response etc.Create Your Own Chemistry: What We Offer YouAdding value to our customers begins with adding value to you.
