SUMMARY 

The Pricing Excellence Analyst will be instrumental in leading Pricing analytics to identify solutions, optimize processes, and build predictive models to enhance business practices. This Analyst will collaborate with the Commercial (Sales, Marketing, Product Development), Finance, Supply Chain, and Customer Experience functions to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and velocity to improve the service level.

Essential Functions: 

The Analyst will be maintaining and executing daily pricing exceptions, customer pricing, and trade agreements to ensure accuracy, efficiency and in line with financial objectives and competitive advantage.  

  • Collaborate and partner with the Commercial team to develop a deep understanding of customer segments, competitor offerings, market trends. 

  • Provide guidance and direction related to pricing and revenue management strategies. 

  • Conduct Pricing analysis by region, account, part number, ensuring pricing is aligned with quoted pricing, reconciling any issues directly with Sales and Sales Management. 

  • Build pricing database for all regions (including competitive information) based on established business unit sales margin guidelines. 

  • Provide detailed analysis and recommendations for price changes for existing offerings based on value and competitive positioning. 

  • Create an automated, systematic approach to reviewing historical trends and trigger points flagging products that are significantly below or higher than historical run rates. 

  • Sustain and enhance dynamic pricing model to evaluate the impact of volume, mix and change on margins, to aid the Sales team in optimizing product mix and financial performance. 

  • Demonstrate analytical expertise with the ability to evaluate financial data and interpret the relevant data points in review and approval consideration. 

  • Establish and maintain procedures for review and adjusting of strategic pricing based on changing economic, competitive landscape and customer perception of value. 

  • Support Pricing related reporting related to SOX audit compliance 

  • Demonstrate the ability to make informed and logical decisions quickly and effectively in addition to communicating justification and risk assessment. 

  • Provide trade agreement status to commercial team to ensure the trade agreements are maintained. 

  • Identify business requirements, processes, and workflows related to Pricing and advocate viable solutions through utilizing technology applications. 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS 

Education:  

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance.  

Experience: 

  • 3+ years combined experience as an Accounting or Financial manager within a complex, fast moving organization, ideally in the packaging space. 

  • 2 or more years of Pricing management experience 

  • Demonstrates ability to work in a matrix structure

  • Ability to formulate and/or champion ideas and concepts to improve business performance in order to achieve set objectives 

  • Able to exercise personal influence, resolve conflict and bring out required behaviors 

  • Articulate performance goals, measures and target in financial terms 

Business and Financial Acumen: 

  • Must be an advocate for change, problem solver, with skilled business acumen 

  • Understands key drivers of revenue and cost and applies in decision-making 

  • Strong analytical skills. 

Computer Skills: 

  • Excellence knowledge in MS Suite products (specifically Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook) and mapping software 

  • Knowledge of various pricing methodologies and ERP systems 

  • Ability to leverage technology (i.e., ERP and MRP) and best practices 

  • Knowledge to analyze large and multi-dimensional data sets 

  • Familiarity with data warehousing and architecture tools, including SQL
