Operations Control Specialist

The Operations and Middle Office department is one of the largest groups at Millennium.

The Control function is responsible for developing and implementing a secure and resilient control framework, while also creating meaningful transparency and data analytics for key risk and performance measurements.

The Control function is also tasked with maintaining accurate and timely regulatory reporting, globally.

We are seeking a driven and thorough Operations Control Specialist to join our team.

Ideally, you will be a self-starter with a strong technical background in financial services industry
– business analysis, regulatory reporting, financial audit, system implementation and data analytics using business intelligence tools.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Governance of key risk & performance indicators to support Operations Management

  • Daily, weekly, and monthly reporting on metrics spanning the operational trade lifecycle including trade volumes, trade edits, matching, settlement, and positions/balances

  • Demonstrate key work drivers analytics to support the process of cost allocation from Operations to business units

  • Automation of manual reporting processes through the development of VBA/SQL/Python solutions and Tableau Dashboards

  • Supervising Offshore Vendors by defining and reporting on Service Level Agreements

  • Liaise, assist and support management in responding optimally to external audit requests

  • Help develop and maintain key regulatory reports for domestic and international regulators

Qualifications/Skills Required

  • 5+ years of experience in financial services, ideally in operations at a broker-dealer or asset management firm

  • Strong knowledge of financial instruments; securities and derivatives

  • Ability to implement and maintain new systems, procedures, and controls

  • Solid understanding of SQL, MS Excel, Tableau, and MS Access

  • Experience in implementing business intelligence tools such as Qlikview, Tableau, Cognos, or Business Objects

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience supporting senior management

  • Must be able to meet deadlines and work independently

  • Self-directed, diligent problem solver with a desire to contribute to Millennium’s reputation and success

  • MBA Finance, CFA, CPA, FRM preferred but not required
