Come join in on our purpose – We put people to work, we protect American freedoms, and we help our customers power and improve the world https://www.soc-usa.com/about-us We’re looking for a full-time, staff Cyber Engineering Lead to join our SOC team located in Melbourne, Fl/Remote The Cyber Engineering Technical Lead will be responsible for forming and leading a team of highly skilled cyber engineers. The lead will be responsible for breaking down large, complex software security projects down into work to be performed by the engineers on the team. The lead will coordinate and participate in vulnerability research (VR) on computing systems and network protocols, reverse engineering (RE) systems and software, and developing VR and RE tools. The incumbent will mentor junior engineers on how to conduct security assessments of computing systems while effectively applying static and dynamic software analysis tools and techniques. The lead will manage the team and will actively be developing vulnerability research tools and architecting unique solutions based on customer gaps and knowledge of the state of the art. The incumbent will be responsible for independently writing high quality design documents, proposals, white papers, trade studies, and project reports. The incumbent will also interface with technical customers and be capable of articulating solutions. While the position requires a deep understanding of cyber engineering as described, general systems engineering capability, especially in wireless and RF systems is strongly desired. As the Cyber, Engineering Lead here’s the work you’ll do: • Direct billable program work in a program technical lead position including, but not be limited to, vulnerability research and reverse engineering, firmware, hardware to gain system understanding, developing code for the specific system, testing and integrating software. Architecting system solutions, breaking work down to assignable tasks for highly technical engineering team, and mentoring engineering team through program completion. Responsible for interfacing with the customer’s technical point of contact (principle investigator, contract officer technical representative, or similar customer representative).Primary author of program technical reports. Accountable to completion of program technical milestones on time and meeting the technical requirements as laid out in the program. • Bid and proposal including support proposal, white paper development, develop tech solutions and participate in reviews. Selling including assisting in developing and delivering demonstrations, white papers, slick sheet, customer interfacing, and travel as necessary to support direct selling activities. • Internal research and development of novel software security technology with the goal to develop program descriminators or intellectual property for commercial sale(s), and wiill be responsible for developing innovative solutions, reviewing concepts / plans with P&L and BD leadership. • Direct management of a small team of technical staff to include making assignments, monitoring progress, and providing helpful feedback. Also includes providing formal performance reviews and providing input on salary recommendations. This role is for you if you have these skills: • Expert Software development in C/C++/Python/Assembly . • Expert Kernel level and firmware development and debugging skills . • Expert use of Vulnerability Research and Reverse Engineering tools (Ghidra or similar tools) . • Ability to direct multidisciplinary teams to complete complex cybersecurity programs . • Ability to lead a any-sized technical team, Mentor Junior staff, and hold routine customer meetings and resolve conflicts . And if you have these qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in CompSci, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline preferred but not required • 8 years relevant work experience required • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
