The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking an Mid-Level DevSecOps Security Engineer.

This Level 3 position is located in Seattle, WA .

The BDS Product Security Engineering team is responsible for the cybersecurity and resiliency of Boeing products and services and we are looking for talented engineers to join our team.

The work is multi-disciplinary and includes activities in cyber and systems security analysis, engineering, and vulnerability assessments and mitigation.

You will be joining a team of advanced security engineers from across the Boeing Enterprise, who are jointly developing best practices, techniques and tools, and a community to draw upon to deliver best value to our customers.

A successful candidate will highlight their interest and experience in software and system security, experience working in team environments, rapid prototyping, and supporting system and software development, integration and test.

These systems cover information technology, as well as embedded systems, and other non-IT elements.

Position Responsibilities:As an integral member of the team, you will be:Deploying our DevSecOps solutions to AWS GovCloud transitioning systems from current environments to GovCloud, while continuing to support existing security infrastructures and environmentsSupporting product teams with adoption of DevSecOps tools and functionality.Developing and improving security policies, process, and standards for software factories and DevSecOps environments.Defining and applying security and software assurance best practices for integration of security into the software development life-cycle and automating and enforcing those checks in pipelinesDeveloping cloud security architecture including managing security requirements and system security plansProviding security subject matter expertise in a collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify system security and processes, including risk assessments to proposed changes.Supporting the development and operation of security-related infrastructure including Identity and Access Management, logging, monitoring, network flows and firewall rules, secrets management, incident responseWorking with development teams on Infrastructure as Code, automation, orchestration, Configuration as Code, code scanning, container hardening, and vulnerability management.Performing analysis including threat modeling and vulnerability scans to identify and prioritize risks, threats, and vulnerabilitiesWorking with geographically-dispersed interdisciplinary team of IT, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Security Engineering, and Program Management professionalsMentoring, training, and explaining security and technical concepts or decisions to users, peers, and management Security Clearance:This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S.

Security Clearance for which the U.S.

Government requires U.S.

Citizenship.An interim and/or final U.S.

Secret Clearance Post Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):5+ years of experience implementing cybersecurity principles, standards, and practices3+ years of experience developing software.

Prefer experience with Java, C/C++, and/or Python.3+ years of experience with DevSecOps principles and automation tools.

Prefer experience with Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, and/or Docker.Experience with Linux and/or Windows functionality and configurationUnderstanding of AWS cloud architecture and servicesExperience with software version control systems.

Prefer experience with Git.This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S.

Security Clearance for which the U.S.

Government requires U.S.


Preferred Qualifications/Desired Skills (Desired Skills/Experience):Experience managing Security InfrastructureFamiliarity with security tools, for example code analysis, OS hardening, vulnerability scanningExperience as a member of an agile development teamExperience with IOT or embedded systems, including product and cybersecurity systems analysis, design, development, and testingSecurity or cloud certification Security+, CISSP, CSSLP, AWS Typical Education/Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.G.

Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.G.

PhD, Master+3 years’ related work experience).

In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
