As a Manager in the Navigation and Sensors group in the Flight Sciences section of Advanced Development Programs (ADP), you will be part of an expanding team of passionate and accomplished experts who are growing and leading strategic technical capabilities crucial to the mission and vision of ADP.

Here at ADP we develop orbital and planetary flight systems, services, and products, including Orbital Reef, Blue Moon commercial lunar lander, advanced spaceflight capabilities, and a wide range of concepts, proposals, and technology development projects.

In the Navigation and Sensors group we focus on the following fields: on-board navigation algorithms and flight software, ground navigation, and navigation sensors and hardware.

As Navigation Software team manager, your responsibilities in this position are twofold: Team Management: Directly manage a team of 5-15 members, who focus on navigation algorithms and flight software.

You will take ownership of the people, processes, and tools crucial for the outstanding performance in these subject domains.

Using your excellent skills as a communicator, listener, and empathetic leader, you will lead the effort of encouraging and growing, rightsized workforce; supervising performance, merits, and promotions; shepherding team members’ careers through mentorship, opportunity matching, and technical development.

Tapping into your expertise in navigation, you will assure that your team’s work products meet domain quality standards.

You will ensure benchmarking the team’s standards and tools with other Blue Origin business units and with industry trends.

We expect this will take approximately up to a third of your time commitment.

Technical Contribution: With the remaining two-thirds of your time, you’ll focus on technical contributions in the area of navigation, providing technical support directly onto one or more programs within ADP.

In this capacity, you will exemplify our best practices, balanced technical judgment, and outstanding work ethic.

Passion for our mission and vision is required Qualifications Required: M.S.

in Aerospace Engineering or related fields Proven 2 years of experience managing technical teams and/or leading functional groups, with responsibility for technical quality of work delivered, and career management of employees Shown 8 years of development and implementation of on-board or ground navigation capability, navigation architecture, software configuration design studies, and sensor performance trades Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Must be a U.S.

citizen or national, U.S.

permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S.

as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired: Ph.D.

in Aerospace Engineering or related field Shown experience in synthesis of state estimation algorithms and Kalman filters for spacecraft navigation Experience in vision-based navigation, and familiar with image processing, and feature detection techniques Solid knowledge of inertial and relative navigation sensors Experience in development of navigation systems that include measurements from LIDAR, and optical sensors Demonstrated knowledge in the development of planetary spacecraft navigation systems Embedded navigation software development in C/C++ Export Control Regulations Applicants for employment at Blue Origin must be a U.S.
