VP Procedural Areas – Health First, Holmes Regional Administration

This is a Full-time position in Brevard County, FL posted August 4, 2022.



The Vice President, Procedural Areas is fully engaged in providing No Harm/Quality, memorable Patient/Customer Experiences, and Stewardship for Cath Lab, GI, Preioperative, Interventional Radiology and Anesthesia service lines. In addition, the VP Procedural Areas provides executive support to other procedural areas where anesthesia services are provided (e.g. Endoscopy, CVC and Radiology). Given the nature and importance of the distributed model, this role also supports Health First systems-wide activities and strategies for the expansion of surgival, perioperative, and anesthesia services – as well as new facilities.

The VP Procedural Areas is responsible for all aspects of the respective departmental operations and financials including, but not limited to, hiring, staffing, team building, strategic planning, business development, service quality, captial and resource planning and operational efficiency. This role works closely with every member of the Hospital Division Executive Committee and Extended Leadership Team as well as the Health First Executive Leadership Team and members of the Hospital.


  1. Plans, implements, delivers, and evaluates Patient Care Services and the service lines goals/objectives. Works to meet or exceed all performance measurements set out annually on the Leadership Performance Scorecard.
  2. Analyzes and applies scientific or technical principles, theories and concepts and in-depth, cross-functional experienced-based knowledge, to resolve highly complex problems.
  3. Manages competing timetables and changing priorities involving complex and sensitive decision-making to delegate, supervise and plan for the timely and successful completion of short and long-term objectives.
  4. Takes a systems approach to problem-solving and operates with an understading of the interrelationships between clinical, teaching, and research activities. Promotes, plans, and implements multi-disciplinary collaboration to ensure a coordinated approach to healthcare.
  5. Builds trusted relationships with key stakeholders across organizations, accompllishing work in a collaborative, transparent manner. Works collaboratively at all levels to generate and encourage creative ideas, innovative thinking, and imaginative solutions to issues or problems.
  6. Directs deparmental preparations for lievensure and accreditation reviews, ensuring standards are met.
  7. Assesses delivery of care and patient outcomes through rounds, committees, quality assessment, performance improvement activities and community surveys.
  8. Defines educational needs and actively supports staff development activities.
  9. Develops operating budgets, captial budgets and labor budgets including periodic review of staffing patterns, employment, recruitment and retention programs.
  10. Counsels associates, evaluates grievances, and resolves conflicts.
  11. Develops and directs organizational quality assurance and quality improvement plans.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related industry
  • Certification: N/A
  • License: Current, active State of Florida RN license
  • Work Experience: At least 5 years of experience in healthcare administration, with at least 3 years in a senior level management capacity. Specific experience with perioperative and procedural services required.

  • Education: Master’s degrees in business or healthcare related field. Typical aspects of the job require the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts typically acquired through a Masters of Healthcare of Administration or Business Administration or closely related field.
  • Certification: Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR), Certified Surgical Services Manager (CSSM) or equivalent perioperative advancement.
  • Work Experience:
    • RN or related clinical experience
    • At least 5 years of surgical leadership experience with demonstrated success and expertise in engagement, quality performance, customer experience, and stewardship in both growth (e.g., volume, revenue, market share) and operational management (e.g., expense reduction and efficiency)


  • Physically agile; may require walking, standing running, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, or crouching frequently
  • Medium work that may include lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, with or without assistance
  • May require moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces, including reaching out and above shoulders or over head
  • May lift, turn, pull, push, or ambulate people and/or equipment with or without assistance up to 90% of the assigned shift
  • May be exposed to inside and outside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting and/or low to loud noise
  • May require working with biohazards such as blood/body fluids and airborne particles following OSHA and CDC Guidelines.

  • Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks
  • Workspace may vary from open to confined, on site or remote
  • May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of personal vehicle.
