The Agency is responsible for administering the Florida Medicaid program, the licensure and regulation of nearly 50,000 health care facilities, and empowering consumers through health care transparency initiatives.
Under the direction of Agency Secretary Simone Marstiller, the Agency is focused on advancing Governor DeSantis vision for Florida s health care system to be the most cost-effective, transparent, and high-quality health care system in the nation. Current Agency initiatives include implementing Florida s groundbreaking Canadian Prescription Drug Importation Program, overhauling Florida s healthcare technological ecosystem, and increasing insight in the cost of health care services.

Position Overview:
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the quality of health care in Florida. We are seeking to hire a Registered Nursing Consultant who desires to work to enhance the delivery of health care services through the Florida Medicaid Program. This position requires a candidate who is creative, flexible, innovative, and who will thrive in a fast-paced, team-based work environment.
This position is located in the Bureau of Medicaid Quality and is open to the Tallahassee, Jacksonville, Orlando, or Miami offices. Medicaid Quality provides data-driven, focused, and systematic feedback on the quality of Florida s Medicaid program to federal and state agencies, Medicaid recipients, Medicaid managed care plans, and providers. The Bureau of Medicaid Quality has a strong focus on providing more comprehensive care, improving health outcomes, and reducing costs.
This position is responsible for:
Developing, planning, and scheduling the review and analysis of program policies and procedures through monitoring.
Developing, designing, and implementing monitoring tools.
Conducting on-site monitoring visits or desk reviews of managed care plans, providers, and other entities as required.
Maintaining ongoing dialogue with managed care contract and service providers during monitoring activities.
Creating and completing reports of monitoring findings and recommended compliance actions including data analysis, charts,
tables, and other reporting formats to clearly communicate results.
Implementing and tracking corrective action plans as necessary and follow-up activities as needed.
Preparing necessary program monitoring information for review using Excel documents, tables, charts, and dashboards.
Developing responses to compliance reviews and recommendations for resolving identified areas of concern.
Representing the Agency in various meetings as required.
Using Clinical nursing skills to evaluate and monitor health care service delivery through medical records review.
This position is being offered at a ranged salary of $2,170.89 – $2,279.40 bi-weekly.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in nursing or a related field can substitute for one year of the required general professional nursing experience.
A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in nursing, nursing education, public health, or a related field can substitute for two years of the required general professional nursing experience.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in accordance with Chapter 464, F.S. or eligible to practice nursing in accordance with Florida Administrative Code 210-8.22, 8.27, or Certification as a Physician s Assistant in accordance with Chapter 458, F.S.
