Energy Procurement Analyst (European)- £24,960 – £31,200 p/a DOE + Benefits – Cambridge/ Hybrid-working

The Role

Are you fluent in both German and English? Do you possess strong analytical and mathematical skills for reporting? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

We are looking for an Energy Procurement Analyst to assist ista’s European fixed and flexible procurement clients in securing electricity and gas prices from utility suppliers.

Knowledge of energy markets is required, but specific experience in energy buying is not essential; training will be provided. This new position offers an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join our Energy Procurement Team and contribute to our continued commercial success.

Key Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of an Energy Procurement Analyst, but are not limited to:

Production of energy buying reports
Maintenance of agreed risk management strategies
Tender analysis of fixed and flexible contracts in the UK
Undertaking internal analytics on non-commodity pricing components for customers
Provide cost analysis of markets
Execute aspects of energy trading, through supplier desks
Ensure the delivery and production of monthly market intelligence reports and support the writing of market commentaries
Liaising with established key customer contacts
Providing regular customer updates through to resolution
Maintaining relationships with suppliers.

The Person

The key skills and qualities of an Energy Procurement Analyst are:

Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
Strong aptitude for use of spreadsheets
Highly proficient mathematical and analytical skill set for reporting
Knowledge of the energy markets, structures and language
Meticulous, highly organised and able to work to tight deadline
Ability to collaborate with a high degree of professionalism with colleagues and clients from different cultures and countries
Be self-motivated and able to work autonomously
Ability to operate in a fast paced and changing environment
Willingness to support business requirements to resolve client queries from time to time, which may fall outside the job spec
Recognition that achievement of targets is a prerequisite
Able to demonstrate the ability to build collaborative relationships both internally and externally.
