Boeing Defense Space & Security has an exciting opportunity for Technical Designer Design Center South to support for VC25B – PAR and other Design Center South program located in Houston, TX; Hunstville, AL and/or Titusville, FL.
As a Technical Designer, you will be working with a multi-function Engineering Organization with a mission statement to provide engineering solutions via a highly skilled flexible workforce and cutting edge technologies for the advancement of the Boeing Enterprise. The Design Center provides engineering support to Enterprise wide projects/programs and is a flexible team that strategically adapts to emerging opportunities.
Position Responsibilities
Leads the development and maintenance of engineering product definition.
Oversees the development of design layouts and the modification of existing designs to satisfy customer and production requirements.
Develops engineering product definition based upon Company requirements and parameters.
Coordinates development of engineering product definition with internal/external parties to ensure compliance with applicable standards, requirements and design parameters as well as product functionality.
Integrates work statement, work scope and work transfer packages with internal and external customers to requirements.
Oversees, directs and integrates the completion of product definition across internal and external business partners and products to provide a functional end-product.
Investigates and resolves complex manufacturing process or engineering related issues.
Verifies accuracy of engineering data produced by others.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. US Person includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
5+ years of experience in a customer service role
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
5+ years of experience with CAD (CATIA/CREO/NX)
5+ years of experience in Model Based Definition (MBD)
Experience with aircraft/spacecraft structure design
Analytical, communication and problem solving skills
Typical Education/Experience
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 6 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+4 years’ related work experience, 8 years’ related work experience, etc.).
